I am a metalsmith, draw-er, photographer and writer living on the traditional territory of the Lkwungen people in Victoria, British Columbia. I was raised in San Diego, California but that world seems far off to me as I spent most of the last decade living and working in Kampala, Uganda. I get nostalgic for the tamale lady at El Cajon Blvd. and 35th, jacaranda trees and Balboa park, rolex (omelette + chapati) stands, long-weekend safaris, and boda boda (motorcyle taxi) rides down the dusty roads on the outskirts of Jinja town.
I am a doting dog owner and spend most of my free time hanging out with my Ugandan rescue dog, Neville. We moved to Victoria to hang out with my husband, Chris, and his cat Howard. "Making stuff" is my most favourite way to spend time, and I dabble in everything from baking to basket weaving to leatherwork, and have an absurdly large collection of beads.
